WEST MANCHESTER TWP., Pa.-- A York county teenager is using his lemonade stand to raise money and awareness for veterans.
Matthew Ott was just 11-months old when his mother, Patricia, who was a veteran, died from an illness. At age nine, he started his business in her honor and now at age 16, he has raised more than $28,000. That money is donated directly to local veteran organizations.
He has started his own official nonprofit, called “Veterans Challenge Patricia S. Ott Foundation."
“It makes me feel like I’m not the only one that’s giving support. It’s everybody who has donated to support. I feel like I’m just connecting people together.” Ott said.
He is currently raising money for VFW Post 556 in York County, and his stand is located at 2222 West Market Street in West Manchester Township.
