Spring Grove man died in York City motorcycle accident

William Benkert, 56, of Spring Grove, died Monday, August 22 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, according to the York County Coroner’s office.

The office reports that Benkert was on his way to work. When traffic slowed in the area of 901 Loucks Road in York City, Benkert struck the back of a pickup truck with his motorcycle.

He was found, an office document reveals, unresponsive and pulseless. Benkert was transported to York Hospital Emergency Department, where he was pronounced dead.

Benkert was not wearing a helmet. An autopsy may or may not be scheduled to continue an investigation.
