LANCASTER, Pa. – Lancaster City Police make an arrest in the August 11th robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank at 926 Manor Street.  After following many investigative leads, Detective Eric McCrady was able to identify 38 year old Robert Vernon Holmes, no known address, as the robbery suspect. Holmes was also wanted by Pennsylvania State Parole as an absconder.

Holmes was eventually spotted in the area of a convenience store at the intersection of Lititz Pike and Keller Avenue. He was taken into custody at about 10:57 a.m. Wednesday morning after a brief foot chase.

Police say Holmes had been accompanied by a female at the time of his arrest. So far no charges have been filed against the unidentified woman.

Following arraignment on a Robbery charge Holmes was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $750,000 bail.
