Amber Alert for 3-year-old Ava Byrne cancelled, little girl found wearing only a diaper in New York

NEW YORK — A man was arrested outside the Lincoln Tunnel Friday, hours after an Amber Alert was issued for him and his 3-year-old daughter who, police say, was in “imminent danger,” sources told PIX11 News.

Ava Byrne, 3, was last seen about 12:30 a.m. Friday on Vine Street in Nescopeck Borough, PA., according to the Amber Alert. She was taken allegedly by Robert Byrne, 24.

The alert initially was issued in Pennsylvania then was expanded into New York, where the pair was ultimately found.

Further details about how they were discovered were not immediately available.

The girl, who was wearing only a diaper when she was taken, has been brought to a Manhattan hospital and her mother is on her way to New York City to reunite with the child, sources said.
