Amber Alert: PA state police search for 3-year-old Ava Byrne

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. –   UPDATE     UPDATE    UPDATE

State Police report that Robert Byrne and 3 year old Ava Byrne have been located and the child is safe.  The Amber Alert has been CANCELLED.

The Pennsylvania State Police has issued an Amber Child Abduction Alert for Nescopeck Borough in Luzerne County.

State police at Shickshinny are searching for Ava Byrne, a three-year-old white, girl with brown hair. Police report that she was wearing only a diaper.

Last seen on Vine Street in Nescopeck Borough at 12:30 am, police suspect she was abducted by Robert Byrne, a 24-year-old white man. He is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, and he is estimated to weigh 215 pounds.

He has brown eyes and black hair, and is driving a 2004 Hyndai Elantra with PA registration HKB-4681.

Anyone with information about the abduction should immediately contact the police by calling 911. For more information go to http://www.amber.state.pa.us.
