WARM WEEKEND AHEAD

High pressure builds in for the weekend bringing plenty of sunshine. No rain is expected either day. Humidity is with us through early next week, and highs are hot around 90 Saturday, even hotter Sunday in the lower 90s.

PM Afternoon Forecast CSV_changeable background

UNSETTLED WEEK

A weak front Monday may trigger a stray shower or thunderstorm but chances are very minimal. We could really use the rain since many areas are abnormally dry. Chances are not much greater into Tuesday when the next cold front arrives. We could see a few showers and thunderstorms but nothing that looks widespread at this point. Highs are still around 90 for the early part of the week but beyond Wednesday, temperatures are back in the 80s.

With temperatures remaining well above average through the end of the month, it is more than likely August 2016 will go down as the warmest of all time with an average temperature of 79 degrees.

The 90s

A strong upper-level trough digs south from Canada over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Thursday and Friday, bringing much cooler more seasonal temperatures. Highs are in the 80s Wednesday and Thursday but many areas are seeing 70s by the end of the week.

WATCHING THE TROPICS

Some of the modeling projecting tropical development along the U.S. Coastline. Where is still in question but indications are for a system to track across the southern tip of Florida into the Gulf. If you or someone you know will be traveling anywhere along the Gulf Coast, watch the forecast in the coming days. We’ll keep you posted with Facebook and Twitter updates.
