EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A man and woman are facing charges in connection with an armed robbery at a jewelry store in Lancaster County last week.

Joshua Ray Tyner, 29, and Lorraine Spradley, 46, both of Newark, Delaware, are each charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, kidnapping to facilitate any felony or flight thereafter, terroristic threats and simple assault.

Both Tyner and Spradley had been on the run since Aug. 17.

On Friday, Tyner was extradited back to Lancaster County. He was arraigned and taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $2.5 million bail. Spradley remains in custody in Delaware and will eventually be extradited back to Lancaster County.

According to police reports, Tyner entered the Zales store at Tanger Outlets in East Lampeter Township  shortly after it opened on Aug. 17.  He was wearing a mask and threatened two female employees with a gun. Tyner forced the pair into a back room, where he tied them up with duct tape, police said. He then emptied a large amount of various jewelry from the display cases into bags before taking off.

One of the employees freed herself and was able to call for help.

Meanwhile, a Strasburg Borough police officer spotted Tyner’s getaway vehicle fleeing the area.

Tyner eventually abandoned the vehicle in Christiana Borough and fled on foot into a wooded area, police said.  An extensive search was conducted by multiple police agencies and K9 units.

Police say Spardley was an accomplice in the robbery.

All of the stolen jewelry has been recovered, according to police reports.

Tyner is expected in court on Sept. 2 for his preliminary hearing
