ONE MORE WARM AND HUMID DAY
Sunshine begins our day but the clouds will increase through the afternoon. Our next front is slowly approaching from the west. Most of the day is dry. Most areas won’t see showers threaten until the evening after the sun sets. Mifflin and Juniata Counties may see a few showers and thunderstorms as early as 6pm. The humidity returns, and it’s a warm one with highs touching 90 degrees one more time before the month ends. If we manage to hit 90, that’ll be our 16th day hitting 90 for the month of August, and 37 for the year. Showers may linger around for part of the overnight but heading into Thursday, the area is drying out. Clouds hang on for the first day of September then clear as the day goes on. We also begin our cool down to more seasonable temperatures with highs in the lower 80s. We are refreshingly cooler into Friday as morning lows drop to the 50s. Despite abundant sunshine, highs only climb to the upper 70s, and it is very comfortable with drier air in place.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND
A dry stretch of weather heads in for the holiday weekend. Mornings will feel cool in the 50s. Highs Saturday top out near 80 degrees but are warmer into the lower 80s for Sunday. Expect plenty of blue skies as the sunshine dominates. Labor Day is dry, but winds shift to the north, as an area of low pressure, hugs the coast. It’s another day of sunshine with a few more clouds, as highs climb to the middle 80s.
FIRST FULL WEEK OF SEPTEMBER
The dry stretch continues into Tuesday with highs warming into the upper 80s. Rain chances are looking slim. Next front comes in late Wednesday into Thursday but moisture is lacking.
