First, Metz, 25, and the Philadelphia Soul claimed the franchise’s second ArenaBowl win on Friday evening.

The next day, it was reported that Metz and fellow Soul player, Darius Reynolds, would have a work out with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.

Late Monday evening, Metz officially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to CSN Philly.

Soul Owner and former Eagles’ quarterback, Ron Jaworski tweeted his congratulations Monday evening.

This past season with the Soul, Metz led the league in sacks (8) and leading the team in tackles for loss (10). He was named the Arena League’s Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Metz finished his collegiate career as Shippensburg University’s all-time sack leader with 30.5 and all-time career tackles-for-loss leader with 55. He broke the single-season school record for sacks in 2012 with 11.5 and finished with 11 in 2013.

Metz is currently the 74th player on the Eagles’ roster, which will be reduced to 53 by next Tuesday at 4 p.m. Therefore, Metz has about a week’s time to prove that he deserves one of the final spots on the team.
