DAY OF TRANSITION

The first day of September is a day we transition from what was a very hot month of August to a cooler, more comfortable couple of days. A cold front pushes out of the area early Thursday. A few lingering showers very early in the morning are possible. Clouds hang on through mid-day before finally clearing. Drier air works in on north-northwest winds dropping the humidity through the afternoon.

5 Day Humidity Check

Highs should manage the lower 80s. Overnight, skies are clear and temperatures drop quickly to the 50s by Friday morning. Blue skies and a northerly breeze brings 70 degree temperatures to end the week. Saturday starts off in the 50s with highs only climbing through the 70s to near 80 degrees. Clouds start to stream in as the flow around high pressure pulls in moisture from Tropical Storm Hermine. Models are pretty split on how close to the coast the system tracks.  Models are spitting out some accumulations of rain for us Sunday.  The forecast is still subject to change but I would prepare for the possibility of showers with highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees .  We’ll keep you posted.

WARMING LABOR DAY

The tropical system is expected to accelerate quickly to the northeast early Monday. The heat and humidity begin to rise for the holiday. Highs approach the middle 80s and you’ll notice the muggy feel returning. Some clouds may linger but plenty of sunshine and dry weather for outside barbecues and picnics expected.

INCREASING HEAT

The ridge re-establishes itself over the northeast allowing for much warmer air to transport into the area. Highs will flirt with 90 degree Tuesday and Wednesday under plenty of sunshine. Our next frontal system doesn’t arrive until Thursday.
