WEST HANOVER TWP, Pa- Parents were alerted Wednesday morning about a suspicious man who approached a student near a bus stop.

According to Central Dauphin School District spokesperson Shannon Leib, a student was walking to their bus stop in the vicinity of Sarhelm Road and Sterling Road in Dauphin County when they were approached by a man. The man asked the student for his phone number and where he lived.

The boy ignored the man, and the man drove off. The man is being described as a white man, possibly in his 50’s, with long gray hair, driving a Red Toyota RAV 4 with a handicap tag hanging from the rear view mirror.

The boy told his bus driver and school administration right away before state police were notified.

State police are now investigating.

The school alerted parents of the incident and remind students to report any suspicious activity and exercise safety while traveling to and from their bus stop.
