DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. -The Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union(PSECU) is warning people not to call a phone number that went out in a text message that appears to be from the credit union. The text message reportedly went out early Monday afternoon.
PSECU released the following statement to its members:
We are aware that some members may have received a text message or phone call appearing to be from PSECU, asking the recipient to call an 844 or 855 area code number. Examples include, but are not limited to, 844.272.8403 and 855.284.5506. These have been verified as spam targeting both PSECU members and non-members. It is in no way affiliated with PSECU.
Do not call the phone number listed on the text message, or provide any information via phone. Instead, delete the message or hang up. It is imperative that members do not provide any personal account information. If you have provided your information as part of this scam, please contact us immediately at 1-800-237-7328.
As always, PSECU will not reach out to our members and ask for any identifying information.
