Police seek to ID four female suspects who used distraction ruse to steal credit card

ruse11609004457LANCASTER, Pa. – On September 4th, at about 4:00 p.m. a customer at Home Goods, at the Red Rose Commons complex, had a wallet stolen during a distraction ruse.  Four female suspects worked together to commit the theft. One suspect spoke to the victim while the others stole the wallet from a purse in a shopping cart. The victim said that the suspect that spoke had some type of unknown accent.

The suspects then used then victim’s credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at Best Buy on Hempstead Road and Kohl’s on Lincoln Highway East. The total amount of fraudulent purchases was in excess of $1,500.00 The purchases were made before the victim was able to cancel the cards through the respective banks.

Surveillance video from Kohl’s captured images of the suspects. The suspects all appear to be white females in their late teens to twenties. All have long brown or black hair.
