2 people injured in overnight shooting in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, Pa.–Two people were wounded in an overnight shooting in Waynesboro. Officers responded to the 100 block of South Potomac Street around 3 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

Investigators found two people with gunshot wounds near the scene, according to police reports. Both people were taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment and have sinceĀ  been released, police said.

Witnesses described two men, one wearing dark shorts, running west bound from the scene moments after they reported having heard the sound of gunshots.

No other information was immediately available.
