LANCASTER, Pa. – Lancaster City Police say there has been an increase in reported residential burglaries in the northeast section of the City since mid-August.

Through their investigation and subsquent follow-ups with victims and witnesses, Detectives from the Property Crimes Division developed Daymond E. Williams as a suspect in many of the burglaries. A warrant was obtained for his arrest. On Thursday September 15, Williams was arrested at his residence on the 100 block of Locust Street.

A CrimeWatch incident published on September 9, featured a suspect from a burglary that occurred on the 200 block North Shippen Street. His image had been captured by surveillance cameras from Lancaster Safety Coalition (LSC) and Molly’s Pub. The male featured in that photo was identified as Williams.

Detective Lt. Clark Bearinger and Detective Toby Hickey filed five Criminal Complaints charging Williams with Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief.  The locations of those burglaries were residences on the 200 block E. Orange Street, 500 block N. Lime Street, two incidents on the 300 block N. Lime Street and 200 block N. Shippen Street.
