JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – A York County man injured in a crash in Indiana that killed his girlfriend, was trapped inside the vehicle for three days with her body, until he was able to crawl to a road to get help.

Police say 39-year-old Kevin Bell of Dover was driving in Jennings County Saturday when his SUV went off the road, down an embankment, and crashed into a tree head-on.

Bell’s girlfriend, Nikki Reed, 37, of Seymour, Indiana was killed in the crash.

Indiana State Police has been searching for the couple for several days after they were reported missing by family members.

Police found Reed inside the vehicle in the passenger seat, a 1999 Ford Explorer, that was not visible from the road.

Officials say Bell’s legs were hurt so badly, he couldn’t get out of the vehicle to get help until Tuesday.

Bell was taken to a hospital in Indiana with non-life threatening injuries.
