YORK, Pa. - It's one of the biggest nights of the year.

The York Bike Night brought out thousands of people enjoying the world of motorcycles.

“Wherever the Harley goes, we go,” Fran Shearer, who visited from Virginia with her husband. “Camaraderie is always there, we are with it, we've got the spirit, we got the adrenaline and we help support it. You feel like you're a family.”

But not everyone settled for a street-level view of the parade. Krystal Younglove of York County has been walking on stilts for years, delighting crowds of all ages.

“I have a better view up here,” she said. “I enjoy it, it's good for me and I'm getting my steps in.”

Another thrill is for those who don't have a bike. Even if you're a beginner, you have the Jump Start stationary motorcycle display, courtesy of Harley-Davidson. They bring this out so that people who may not know how to ride a motorcycle can get a feel of the thrill, perhaps even leading to a sale.

“A lot of people get on it and then they go take the safety course because they felt the experience,” Jim Budzinski of First Capital Harley-Davidson said.

The event brings an appreciation for those who get from point A to B on two wheels, celebrating central Pennsylvania's contribution to the world of motorcycles.

“It brings in tourism and brings in money to the restaurants, and we have a lot of people here,” Budzinski said.

FOX43 is a proud media sponsor of York Bike Night.
