EMIGSVILLE, Pa.-- Dozens of boy scouts enjoyed the great outdoors in York County this weekend. The Susquehanna Trail District Scout Oath and Law Fall Camporee took place in Emigsville.
Campers enjoyed a number of activities from a firefighting demonstration to fishing. The boys could also pioneer bridges over a two-foot wide stream.
One camper says the experience is about more than adventures.
"I'm really hoping that they learn the old values of scouting. A lot of people think it's just hiking and camping when really it's a lot more than that; being a more ethical person and just learning everything through the scout law" said David Wagonheim, with Troop 25.
A campfire was held before bedtime on Saturday night and the Fall Camporee wrapped up Sunday morning.
