CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.– Police are looking for an 18-year-old who escaped from custody during a drug investigation in Chambersburg on Thursday afternoon.

Lamuel E. Gravesande escaped during an investigation by the Franklin County Drug Task Force, according to police reports. Investigators used the Borough’s downtown surveillance cameras to track him to an address on North Street, but he fled prior to police arrival.

While reviewing the footage, surveillance video showed a woman helping Gravesande elude law enforcement, police said. Officers were able to speak to the woman and discovered Gravesande was possibly taken to Hagerstown, Maryland.

Police say charges against the unidentified woman are pending.

Gravesande was not armed and there was no threat to the public, according to authorities.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police and the Chambersburg Police Department assisted the FCDTF in attempting to locate Gravesande.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Gravesande is urged to contact Chambersburg Police at (717) 264-4131.
