UPDATE -- The borough of West York says it is holding another community forum on Monday, October 3rd at 6 p.m. The forum will be held at the Borough Hall in West York. It is in reference to Mayor Chuck Wasko's racially charged social media postings.

WEST YORK, Pa.-- The Borough Hall in West York held dozens of people on Saturday in response to racially charged messages posted to social media by Mayor Chuck Wasko. Several people in the crowd are asking for Wasko to resign.

The borough council president says elected officials and law enforcement are outraged at the comments.
They also say the views from the mayor do not reflect those serving West York Borough. They are looking for a way to legally remove him from office.

Sandra Thompson, President of the York NAACP said, "I bet if he recalled that oath, he recalled that includes representing to the full extent, black people. I bet if he recalled that oath that he would represent women. Now to the full extent if he recalled that oath he would represent poor people who need social services."

Residents gave their opinion at the forum. Some also said it is Wasko's first amendment right to make those comments.
