WORMLEYSBURG, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. -- A  new K9 for the West Shore Regional Police Department is in need of a bullet and knife-proof vest.

A fundraiser was held for Winston, the K9, through a hot dog sale at Dewz Dogz on Sunday.  The event featured lots of food and entertainment. Winston was also in attendance for everyone to see. The officer who is assigned to the K9 says having the dog is a win-win situation.

"A K9 is a huge asset, not only for the police assistance part, but for the community relations part, everybody loves a dog," Patrol Officer Christopher Conroy said.

A GoFundMe Page has been set up for K9 Winston. So far, it has raised $675.00; the total goal is $5,000.
