EAST COCALICO TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A Lititz woman was arrested last month after police found her passed out behind the wheel with  two small children in the car.

Linette Roonan, 35, is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and  DUI. She was arraigned on Oct. 3 and has since posted bail.

East Cocalico Police were responded to the Burger King parking lot in Ephrata after a concerned citizen reported seeing a woman passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle on Sept. 13. The driver, later identified as Roonan, then left the parking lot and headed northbound on Route 272.

Police found the vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of a bar located along the 1000 block of North Reading Road. Roonan was passed out in the driver’s seat, with the vehicle still in drive and her foot on the brake, investigators said.

Officers were able to wake Roonan and determined she was impaired. According to police reports, Roonan had two small children in her vehicle at the time of the incident.

Her children were turned over to a responsible adult, police said.

A blood test revealed Roonan had high levels of Amphetamine, Methamphetamine and Methadone in her system at the time of the test.
