Man in custody after attempted homicide in Schuylkill County

UPDATE– Pennsylvania State Police say Harold McGurl has been located as of Saturday evening and is in custody.

ASHLAND BOROUGH, Schuylkill County, PA- State police in Frackville are attempting to locate a man who they say tried to stab another man early Saturday morning.

According to police, at 1:00 a.m.  police responded to the area of 1200-1400 block of Spruce Street for reports of a man with lacerations. When they arrived they found a 28-year-old man with multiple stab and or slice wounds.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Harold McGurl, 43, was identified as the person who attacked the victim, police said.

Police are attempting to locate McGurl. He was last seen in Ashland Borough shortly after the attack occurred.

McGurl should be considered armed and dangerous.  The Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office approved the Attempted homicide charges.
