EAST BERLIN, Pa.-- It was a fun-filled day for folks at the Pumpkin Festival in East Berlin, Adams County on Saturday. It's the second year for the event, sponsored by the Zwingli Church and East Berlin Area Community Center.
The day began with a breakfast of pumpkin pancakes and traditional goodies. The lunch menu included pumpkin soup, breads, pumpkin pie and more. There were also activities for children, like creating scarecrows and painting pumpkins.
"Certainly all the people who come out, this is a family event great for kids of all ages. We tried to deliver a lot of fun activities and then the food, homemade baked goods, it's a really good experience to come out," says Lisa Leathery, a volunteer with Zwingli Church.
There were also carving competitions and pony rides.
