York, Pa.-- Local teams gathered on Saturday to play softball, all with a purpose in mind.
Girls from ages 8 to 18 enjoyed a few non-competitive softball games to help out the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. To date, the event has raised more than $40,000 dollars for the coalition. The event was also a way to honor and remember breast cancer survivors.
Organizers say it's really all about inspiration.
"I think it's very important to take a stand for something that you believe in, something that you feel compassionate about and help others even if it doesn't affect you. It's very important to inspire my daughter, I want her to help others and have compassion for other people," Stephanie Lux, founder of the event says.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.
