LANCASTER, Pa. – On Monday October 10, at 3:15 p.m. city police responded to the 600 block of George Street for reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived on the scene they found that two homes on the street and a parked, unoccupied vehicle had been struck and damaged by bullets. Both residences were occupied at the time that the shots were fired. There were no reported injuries as a result of the gunfire.
Initial information provided to police was that the suspect who fired the shots had fled the area on foot. Through the course of the investigation, Zeyquan L. Sanchez, 20, of Columbia Borough was developed as a suspect.
After speaking with witnesses and victims, Sanchez was positively identified as the person that had fired the shots on George Street. Investigators also learned that Sanchez already had an outstanding Lancaster County Bench Warrant for his arrest after failing to appear at a court date.
Officers and Detectives continued their search for Sanchez throughout the evening of the Monday into Tuesday morning. During the early morning hours of Tuesday investigators learned that Sanchez was likely at a home on the 500 block of Walnut Street in Columbia.
Borough police assisted by Lancaster County SERT and members of Lancaster City Police CID executed a warrant arrest at the home. Sanchez was taken into custody and transported to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police station.
After the filing of a Criminal Complaint a warrant was issued charging Sanchez with 9 counts Aggravated Assault, Persons not to Possess Firearms, Carrying Firearm Without a License, 2 counts Discharge Firearm into an Occupied Structure and 9 counts Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
Sanchez is being held at Lancaster County Prison without bail on the bench warrant.
