One dead after single-vehicle crash in Lancaster County

WEST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP — One man was pronounced dead after a single vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.

Charles Harrison Jr, 66, of Hudson, FL and of Baltimore, MD was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred near Prospect and Spooky Nook Roads at around 5PM.

Harrison’s 2010 Ford F-150 was headed southbound on Spooky Nook Road, however, when it entered the curve in the area of Prospect Road, it left the roadway and rolled several times.

An off-duty EMT and several others that came upon the scene attempted to render medical aid, but Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene by the deputy coroner.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident and will be awaiting autopsy results.  Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the West Hempfield Township Police at 717-285-5191 or 1-800-957-2677.
