WALKER TOWNSHIP, JUNIATA COUNTY–A Mifflintown man was arrested Tuesday after police say he broke into a home and kidnapped a 12-year-old boy at knife-point in Juniata County.
Julio R. Luna-Contreras, 26, is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, false imprisonment of a minor, theft by unlawful taking, interference with the custody of children, simple assault, terroristic threats, lure child into motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and burglary. Luna-Contreras was arraigned and taken to Mifflin County Correctional Facility without bail.
According to state police reports, Luna-Contreras stole a Mifflintown man’s vehicle and drove to the boy’s home along Smith Road in Walker Township. Once there, he entered the home through a window and kidnapped the boy using a knife, state police said. Luna-Contreras then drove the boy to several different locations before dropping him off at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov 3.
