New West York mayor to be sworn in after current mayor resigns

WEST YORK, PA. - West York council president, Shawn Mauck, will take over as the mayor of West York. Mauck is to be sworn in at 10:45am Friday and is expected to hold the position until the end of the year.

The move comes after council accepted the resignation of Mayor Charles Wasko was accepted by council. Wasko was asked to resign after posting racist comments on Facebook.
