LANCASTER, Pa.– Testimony has revealed that a 16-year-old girl that overdosed with heroin she received from her father was close to dying.
Kerry Long, 35, is charged with supplying the heroin that caused the girl’s overdose. The heroin tested positive for fentanyl, a pain-reliever that is 40 to 50 times stronger than heroin being sold on the street.
An emergency medical technician testified that the girl required four doses of Narcan to regain consciousness and without the opioid antidote, the girl would have died.
Following the testimony, Judge Adam Witkonis ordered that Long be tried in Lancaster County Court on felony counts of aggravated assault, drug-dealing, corruption of minors and endangering a child.
Long is in Lancaster County Prison on $1 million bail.
