DA announcement regarding recent burglaries, vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles

York PA – The York Metro area has experienced a rash of burglaries, vehicle thefts and theft of items from vehicles recently. We are asking the public to be vigilant and request that all residents make sure that their homes, vehicles and garages are kept locked and secured. In addition, we ask that no keys be left within your vehicle while unattended, and that you remove any items of value, as 121 vehicle thefts have occurred in which keys were left in the vehicle. This year, York County has experienced a total of 283 vehicle thefts, 13 burglaries with vehicles taken, including while residents are home or sleeping. We also have reports of at least 7 guns taken from stolen vehicles. We are asking the public for their assistance in reporting any suspicious activity to your local police departments.
