WEST HEMPFIELD TWP., Lancaster County, Pa. — West Hempfield Police got a break in a burglary investigation when some stolen items were sold in a local pawn shop. The person who pawned the items was not aware they were stolen and told police who gave him the stolen goods. Police filed charges of Burglary, Theft, and Criminal mischief charges against Timothy Kelley II.

The burglary occurred on earlier this year. The residents of a home on the 4400 block of Chinchilla Avenue in Mount Joy returned from vacation on August 26th to discover someone had broken into their house.

The victims reported that electronic items were removed from their residence, valued at $730.00.

The victims also reported property damage at about $1,055.27.

On Thursday, September 1, 2016, police investigators learned that the stolen items were pawned at a local establishment.

Investigators learned that an unsuspecting acquaintance of Kelley had pawned the stolen items for him.
