SPRING GARDEN TWP, York County, Pa- York College of Pennsylvania says an alleged sexual assault on the campus in early September was recently reported to college officials.

York College spokesperson said the school is taking these allegations seriously and are investigating the matter.

An email that was sent out to the community reads:

Campus community members,

I write to inform you of an alleged sexual assault on campus, which dates from early September, that was recently reported to campus officials. The student involved has posted information on social media. The allegation does not involve another student or a College employee, but a contract employee who has been removed from campus. Because of student privacy concerns, more details about the incident cannot be shared at this time.

The student is currently under the supervision and care of parents and is not on campus. The College is cooperating with local law enforcement officials who are investigating the matter and has reached out to legal counsel as well.

Thank you. President Pamela Gunter-Smith
