Underground fire breaks out in York

YORK, Pa.– Firefighters were called to handle an underground fire in York on Sunday evening. It broke out around 7:15 on the first block of North George Street. It was first reported as an explosion.

Fire crews and police were both called to investigate the area. North George Street was closed to traffic between Market and Philadelphia Streets for about a half an hour.

The cause has not been released.
