WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- York County veterans were honored Friday morning with a celebration breakfast.  YORKVETs were encouraged to bring their families to the gathering.  Organizers say the event allows local veterans to come together to enjoy the company of those who have shared similar experiences.

"I share with my brothers and sisters the camaraderie," says Richard Ross, a Vietnam War veteran with the United States Army.  "We remember what we've done, the years that we've served together, and remember our brothers and sisters that didn't make it home."

The presentation of the 25th annual York County Veterans Meritorious Service Award was also made during the breakfast.  The award is given to a York veteran who has demonstrated distinguished community service.  This year's award went to John Vecero, with the York County Honor Guard.
