LEMOYNE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA. -- Volunteers worked to give out food to about 250 families in need for Thanksgiving on Saturday in Lemoyne.

The New Hope Ministries Center is just one of a few New Hope centers across our area. A manager says they helped about 1,000 families across Central Pennsylvania on Saturday. The families received a turkey, canned goods and other items for their Thanksgiving meals.

The center manager says they don't want families to have to worry about where they are going to find the holiday food.

"To be able to have the time to focus on your family, and not worry about where your turkey is coming from, and not feel isolated because you can't have the turkey, or you can't have the food that everyone has on Thanksgiving that everyone is able to enjoy together," Jacy Luce, the manager at New Hope Ministries said.

The center says they are always looking for donations and volunteers.  For more information, click here.
