YORK, Pa.-- Downtown York is looking festive and ready for the holidays. On Sunday, a group of volunteers about 50-volunteers from Downtown, Inc. got to work trimming Continental Square.

"It's the 17th Annual Hanging of the Greens," said Megan Hess Feeser, with Downtown, Inc. "We'll be out hanging hundreds of feet of garland today on 100-light posts in downtown York."

"We wanted to get involved and give back and this was a fun way to do that," said volunteer Kyle Joines.

"We've gotten a lot of compliments from people walking by and starting to get in the holiday spirit," says Mark Evans, who is also volunteering his time.

The group said the cold and windy weather didn't bother them, in fact, it made it feel more like the holiday season.

The greens and bows will stay up, adding a decorative touch to downtown York, until the new year.
