Child struck and killed after hit and run in Hanover Borough

HANOVER, Pa. – A hit and run in Hanover Borough claimed the life of a 4-year-old girl, Tuesday night.  It happened just before 7:30 p.m. along the 200 block of Princess Street.

Police say a van struck the child as she was crossing the street.  The driver then took off from the scene.

EMS rushed the girl to Hanover Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Authorities are now searching for the driver of the van.  Police are describing the suspect as a white male, possibly with a beard.

They say he was driving a white full sized utility van, with unknown writing on the side and a ladder rack on the roof.
