Pedestrian killed in Lancaster County by hit-and-run driver identified

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY–Police have identified the trash collector who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Lancaster County on Monday.

Investigators say 24-year-old Vince Nalencz of Media, Delaware County, was working for Eagle Disposal  when he was struck around 5:20 a.m. by an SUV. It happened in front of 2518 West Willow Street Pike North in West Lampeter Township.

Police say the driver did not stop. The striking vehicle is possibly a Ford or Mercury sport utility vehicle.

So far, no charges have been filed in the case. The investigation continues.
