Motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV in Leacock Township

LEACOCK TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY–A Christiana man was killed Friday night when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Lancaster County, according to Pennsylvania State Police reports.

It happened at the intersection of Queen Road and Poplar Street in Leacock Township shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.

According to state police, Darrel V. Peachey, 37, was driving his motorcycle south on Queen Road when he illegally passed another driver who witnessed the crash. Investigators say Peachey was driving at a high rate of speed when he crested a hill and hit the rear of an SUV driven by an 18-year-old Strasburg woman.

Peachey was thrown from his motorcycle and rushed to Lancaster General Hospital, where he later died.

Multiple witnesses told state police that Peachey was driving erratically prior to the crash.
