LANCASTER, Pa. –  A Denver Borough woman who managed to elude police in a high speed chase last weekend is arrested for shoplifting at Park City Center.

Lancaster City Police responded just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday to the area of the Kohl’s department store for a report of a retail theft suspect that had fled from loss prevention/security.  The suspect, identified as 31 year old Serena Schmuck was being detained by mall employees when police arrived on the scene.

Schmuck was placed under arrest for Retail Theft for taking merchandise valued at $120.00 without paying for the items. After she complained of an unknown medical issue, Schmuck was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Upon release from the hospital, Schmuck was arraigned on charges of Retail Theft, Possession of Controlled Substance (cocaine)  and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She was then committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Pennsylvania State Police have an arrest warrant for Schmuck for Fleeing and Eluding as well as Bench Warrants from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Last Sunday at around 4 a.m. Schmuck was clocked traveling 110 mph on Route 222 by Manheim Township Police. She refused to stop and led police from municipal agencies on an 11 mile chase where her speed at one point hit 120 mph. She managed to get away after turning off her vehicle’s headlights.
