DERRY TOWNSHIP, DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa.-- Police officers from across the state hit the ice today at GIANT Center on Saturday ready to face off against some former hockey players.

The groups played a charity game to benefit families of fallen police officers.
The game raises money for children of Pennsylvania law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty and it received a lot of community support.

"They do support us, and it's very much appreciated. Nobody ever forgets Kyle or any other officer who lays down his life for a total stranger," said Paul Moyer, whose stepson was killed in the line of duty.

All money raised by the match-up is used to pay for the future educational needs of the children of fallen officers.  The event is called cops for K.O.P.S., which stands for Keep Our Pipers Safe. It refers to the bagpipe players who play and give a final send-off to police officers at funeral services.
