HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Students in Dauphin County are helping hundreds of other children in the area to stay warm during the winter months.  Students from Central Dauphin East Middle and High Schools collected 900 hats, scarves, and gloves and donated them to the county's Children and Youth Services.

It's the third year that the National Honor Societies from the schools have taken on the project.

"It's the little things that really count toward making a better community, in my opinion," said Milly Pil, Vice President of the High School's National Honor Society.  "So even if it just seems like a little thing -- oh, hats and gloves -- sometimes that's what people really need to get by."

Students say this year's is the largest donation to date.
