Penn National jockey charged with Attempted Homicide

HARRISBURG, Pa.– A Penn National Race Course jockey is facing a number of charges, including Attempted Homicide.

40-year old Luis Angel Belmonte, of Harrisburg, was arrested Thursday by PA State Police troopers.

According to court documents, Belmonte was taken into custody and faces one felony count of Criminal Attempted Homicide, one felony count of Aggravated Assault and one misdemeanor count of Aggravated Assault.

State Police have not provided any details about the crime, the victim, or the extent of injuries.

Belmonte is currently behind bars in Dauphin County Prison on $1,000,000.00 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 23rd.
