YORK, Pa. — A York City man is arrested after an undercover investigation revealed he possessed graphic sexual images and videos, depicting children as young as 4 years old. John Joseph Rosario, 26, of Atlantic Avenue was charged with Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography and taken to the Central Booking Center for Preliminary Arraignment on Friday, December 16th and is currently in York County Prison.
Rosario was arrested for child porn in 2011. Those charges were eventually withdrawn, according to online court records.
Police investigated Rosario after determining he was downloading child pornography earlier this month. Det. Mike Mendez of West York Borough Police Department’s Special Crimes Unit intercepted these downloads using specialized software.
West York Borough Police Department Criminal Investigative Division, along with elements of the Northern York County Regional Police, York City Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at a residence on Atlantic Avenue in York City on Friday.
As they executed the warrant, police say they found additional images and videos, some of which depicted children of various ages, some as young as four years old, engaged in sexual activity with adults.
