EAST HANOVER TWP., Dauphin County, PA. — According to court documents obtained by FOX43 News, the Penn National jockey accused of attempted homicide pistol whipped the victim and shot him in the chest. Luis Angel Belmonte was charged Thursday, December 15th. But details about the incident have been scant.

According to the arrest warrant filed by state police, A woman called Dauphin County 911 around 3:02pm Thursday. She reported her son, Dyllon Miller, had been pistol whipped and then shot and she was driving him to the hospital. Within minutes, she pulled over on I-81 and an EMS crew from South Central EMS took Miller who then transported him to the hospital.

Miller’s girlfriend told police she saw Belmonte at 236 Saginaw Street in East Hanover Twp. Police went to the address and found a ‘substantial amount of blood.’ Miller’s girlfriend also identified another witness, Belmonte’s son. Police spoke to him and he denied any knowledge of the incident.

The bullet reportedly passed through Miller’s uppers torso. Belmonte is currently behind bars in Dauphin County Prison on $1,000,000.00 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for December 23rd.
