Police officer air-lifted to hospital following car crash on Harrisburg Pike

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Crews were called to the scene of an accident on Harrisburg Pike shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.

The crash occurred eastbound on Harrisburg Pike just before the Flying J Dr.  A commercial motor vehicle was stopped for traffic at the traffic light at the intersection, when a marked Middlesex Township Police Unit, failed to come to a stop and struck the rear of the commercial motor vehicle.

The Police Officer was air-lifted to Hershey Medical Center.  The operator of the other vehicle denied having injuries.

The police car suffered disabling damage and was towed by Jerry’s towing, the other vehicle suffered minor damage but was operational.
