LANCASTER, Pa.-- One man is being transported to the hospital after a shooting this morning.
Emergency personnel responded to the 700 block of Poplar Street at 4:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers were told that the incident occurred in a nearby parking lot and that the victim had gone into the residence in the 700 block of Poplar Street.
Officers located the victim, a 24-year-old male, who had suffered a gunshot wounds to the torso and upper thigh. The victim was transported to an area hospital and underwent surgery. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The victim is employed as a taxi driver and told police that he was shot during a robbery attempt. It appears that there was a struggle between the suspect and victim, and that the suspect fled on food after the incident.
The suspect is described as wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt or jacket and is an unknown race.
