DOVER TOWNSHIP, York County, Pa.– The York County Coroner’s office has identified the man who died in a single vehicle crash in Dover Township on Saturday night.
According to the York County Coroner’s office, Lorne Dean Sheaffer, 54, of Willow Tree Lane in Dover was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the 6300 block of Harmony Road, Dover Township at 9:18 p.m. Saturday.
Sheaffer, was a passenger in the vehicle, when it ran off the road, swiped a telephone pole and drove into an embankment. Sheaffer was killed on impact. He was wearing his seat belt.
The driver survived, and was taken to WellSpan York Hospital. Their condition is unknown.
An autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Monday.
