One person injured in Dauphin County plane crash

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A 60-year-old pilot was injured when his experimental amateur Pietenpol Air Camper plane crashed this morning at the Bendigo Airport in Rush Township, according to State Police and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m., shortly after the plane took off.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane’s registered owner is Herbert D. Rose, of the first block of Moyer Street in Sacremento Township, Schuylkill County. Rose is the plane’s manufacturer, according to the FAA.

State police say the pilot was airlifted to Geisinger Medical Center, where a spokesperson told FOX43 he is listed in critical condition.
